fan|tail «FAN TAYL», noun.
1. a tail, end, or part spread out like an open fan.
2. a pigeon, goldfish, or other animal whose tail spreads out like an open fan. An Australian flycatcher has such a tail.
3. the slender, overhanging part of the stern of some ships.
4. Architecture. a) a fan-shaped structure or part, especially a centering for an arch made of radial struts. b) one of the radial struts.
